Just as applying the tattoo initially, there can be discomfort. We are able to offer complete numbing or cold application, which ensures the treatment is well-tolerated and minimally uncomfortable

No. We have some supportive methods that help reduce or eliminate pain. We combine them with lasers for better results.
In general, the answer to your question is yes, but different amounts. Some say it hurts less than getting a tattoo, while others say the amount of pain was the same or more. We had one person fall asleep during a laser treatment and wrote a blog about it. A number have said it's noting or almost nothing. And a few said it does not hurt at all.
On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the worst, we have heard 0 and 1. We've also gotten quite a few 2's and 3's. Since we have 5 or 6 different methods of pain reduction and usually take more time cooling the skin than treating it, we get these great results.
A superior patented laser output--the laser manufacturer states "without hot spots"--helps too. Using multiple pain reduction methods certainly helps. Just like using multiple methods to enhance the ink removal, helps speed the removal and remove more ink. Using the best combination of tools appropriate to the situation yields the best results.

Although tattoo removal is not pain free, it is not as painful as getting a tattoo! A topical numbing cream can be applied one hour prior to the appointment that takes away much of the discomfort that you will feel. It is mostly a heat feeling.
